The most convenient solution is the Circumvesuviana train, which connects Naples and Sorrento with Ercolano Scavi and Pompei Scavi stations. From both, official buses and shuttles run directly to the entrance of the volcano.
During the high season, combined train + Vesuvius bus tickets are also available, offering a smooth and simple way to reach the crater.
