Capri for family

Hey Rider Family!
I’m so happy to welcome you on this journey to discover a wonderful place like Capri.
I say this because it truly is an enchanted island, a place where adventures come to life and every corner tells a story.
Here, children become the real stars of the vacation—they can transform into explorers, discover mysterious caves, challenge ancient legends, chase seagulls, and dive into a dreamlike sea. But do you know what the best part is, dear family?
It’s the unique opportunity for you adults, riding the wave of your children's enthusiasm, to rediscover the child within you. Don’t be afraid—be an example of joyful, mindful fun for your little ones, creating moments of love and happiness in this magical place.
So… are you ready to embark on a journey filled with magic, history, and fun?

Arrival in Capri
The adventure begins right away, with an exciting voyage across the waves. The duration may vary depending on the type of boat you choose, but I can guarantee that the emotions will be exactly the same! While you're waiting to arrive, I have a challenge for the kids: Look at the sea… Can you spot a mermaid’s tail among the waves? Legend has it that many years ago, sirens tried to enchant Ulysses with their song right here! Those who listen carefully to the sound of the waves might still hear them…
A small technical tip: some ferry companies offer discounts for families, so don’t forget to ask!
Now, enough chatter, keep your eyes open, because the first one to spot the Faraglioni wins an ice cream!
A promise is a promise…
As soon as you arrive, you’ll find yourselves in Marina Grande, welcomed by a burst of colors: white houses, vibrant fuchsia bougainvillea, and the sparkling blue sea.
But before heading up the island, it’s time to keep that ice cream promise! Stop by Gelateria Buonocore for a delicious treat with a freshly baked, crispy waffle cone, you can already smell it from the street!

Exploring Capri
Now that you're full of energy, your first stop is the famous Piazzetta, which you can reach by funicular. Kids will love it! It’s a short but thrilling ride between the sky and the lemon trees. In just a few minutes, you’ll arrive at the Piazzetta of Capri, the beating heart of the island.
Here, you can take advantage of family tickets, and don’t worry about the stroller, it’s allowed as long as it’s foldable.
After exploring this iconic spot, hop on a bus to Anacapri, where a perfect adventure awaits young explorers: climbing the highest peak on the island!
To get there, you have two choices:
The panoramic chairlift: A peaceful, floating journey through the clouds (don’t worry, it’s not too high!). Ideal for those who want to feel like real explorers soaring above the island. (Note: children under 5 must sit with an adult.)
The hiking trail: Perfect for kids with boundless energy! The trek takes about 40 minutes and turns into an exciting challenge.
Before choosing, consider this: If your little adventurers are very young and can’t ride the chairlift alone, the hiking path might be the better option.

Anacapri e Punta Carena
But don’t worry! once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Capri, the Faraglioni, and even Mount Vesuvius! Plus, there’s a snack area, perfect for a scenic break.
Take a moment together to soak it all in, not just with your camera, but in your hearts. Capture every detail to make this memory last forever.
Once you’re back down in Anacapri, just a short walk from the chairlift, another magical place awaits both kids and grown-ups:
Villa San Michele, a secret garden filled with mystery and beauty. Here, among ancient statues and Roman columns, stands an Egyptian Sphinx.
Tell your kids this fun fact: If you touch the Sphinx and close your eyes, legend says you can see your future. Who will be the first to try?
After experiencing the culture and magic of the island, let me ask you: What’s an island without a lighthouse?
There’s only one answer: none! So, hop on a bus to Faro di Punta Carena. It’s an easy 20-minute ride, and I’m sure the kids will be speechless when they see this giant guardian of the sea.
By now, it’s time for a well-deserved lunch. While adults may be tempted by Capri’s signature dish, the Caprese salad, kids might prefer something more filling but equally delicious, how about Gnocchi alla Sorrentina?
And, of course, no meal is complete without dessert! Try Torta caprese, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with rich chocolate flavor!

A last jewel before leaving again.
Now comes the moment the kids have been waiting for: A boat trip!
You can easily reach Marina Piccola, where you have two options:
The Blue Grotto tour : Entering this magical cave in a small rowboat, everything turns a brilliant shade of blue! A truly unforgettable experience.
A boat tour around the island, perfect for discovering hidden caves and sailing under the Faraglioni. If you have little ones, a shorter tour with a swimming stop might be the best choice.
After a day full of adventures, discoveries, and magic, it’s time to head back home… but with hearts filled with unforgettable memories.
And remember, mom and dad, on this magical island, even the child within you got to dream again.
