Vietri sul Mare for family

Capri for family

Hey Rider Family!

I'm happy to have you here as we spend a day in Vietri sul Mare with kids, surrounded by colors to touch, explore… and take home.
In Vietri, every corner is like a brushstroke. The blue of the sea, the yellow of lemons, the turquoise of the ceramic shops: a village that looks like a painting… and when seen through children’s eyes, it becomes an adventure to experience with all the senses.

So… are you ready to go?

Arrival in Vietri sul mare

Start your day slowly, from the historic center stroll along Corso Umberto I and let the kids lead the way.
Between fish-shaped vases, ceramic donkeys (ciucciarielli), and colorful alleys, every corner becomes a discovery.
Tip? Turn the walk into a treasure hunt: search for the funniest tiles, painted utility meters, the names of artisan shops… and ask the shop owners to share a story passed down through generations. A little further on, the symbol of Vietri appears with its curious facade: 16,000 vases embedded in the walls!
Step inside together: watching the artisans' hands painting ceramics is a magical moment. Some workshops even offer small live demonstrations… and if you like, you can choose a one-of-a-kind souvenir to take home.

Exploring Vietri sul mare

Just a few more steps and you’ll reach the Villa Comunale of Vietri.
Bursting with color, with mosaic walls reminiscent of Gaudí’s style, it’s perfect for a break: no swings, but plenty of hiding places and playful corners. The view over the Gulf is breathtaking — and if you’ve packed a snack, this is the perfect place to enjoy it. Walk down to the marina: the path offers stunning views, from Crestarella beach to the legend of the Two Brothers rocks.
On the beach, children run, play, and collect seashells. You relax — perhaps at a seaside restaurant, or with a picnic to enjoy in total freedom.

Vietri for little artists

After lunch, a stroll along the seafront leads to Marina's small square: here you’ll find a little playground and a handcrafted nativity scene.
From here, you can climb back to the center through the blue and pink alley, one of the most photographed spots in the village, where every doorway seems to tell a fairytale.

Still have time?
Many workshops offer short classes for children, where they can paint their own ceramic tile and take it home.
A quick snack, one last stroll through the artisan shops… and it’s time to leave, with eyes full of color and hearts a little lighter.
