How long is the ferry from Sorrento to Capri?
High-speed vessels and hydrofoils take 20–25 minutes. Motorboats (e.g. Laser Capri) take up to 32 minutes. The distance is 9 nautical miles (about 16 km).
How much does a Sorrento–Capri ticket cost?
In high season (Apr–Oct), all-in prices range from €24 (Alilauro, Seremar) to €26 (SNAV), with NLG at €25. All include the mandatory Capri landing contribution of €5 per person. Children under 2–3 travel free.
Can I bring my car to Capri?
Only residents may bring motor vehicles to the island from Easter to early November. Leave your car in Sorrento.
How far in advance should I book?
In low season, even on the day. From June to September — and at weekends from May — the early-morning departures sell out fast. Book 2–3 days ahead for summer weekends.
What happens if my sailing is cancelled?

Do ferries run all year?
Yes, but frequency varies. April to October: departures every 30–60 minutes. November to March: reduced schedule, but daily crossings remain available.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, on all main companies with a supplement. Small dogs on a lead, larger dogs may need a muzzle. Check the policy of the company you are travelling with.
Is the ticket electronic?
