The visit

What you see in half a day.

  • Half a day is enough for the heart of the site: the Forum, the baths, the basalt streets and the frescoed houses that show the city as it was. The guide picks the route and adapts it to the group.
  • Skipping the line changes the day: in high season the ticket queue can cost you an hour — here you walk in and start with the ruins, not the wait.
  • Meeting up is simple: pickup points in Sorrento, transfer there and back. No trains or connections to work out.

How long is the half day, really?
About 5 hours door to door from Sorrento, roughly 2 of them inside the ruins with the guide. Lunch isn't included in this option.
What's the difference between Pompeii alone and Pompeii with Vesuvius?
The combo adds the climb to the crater: a full day instead of half, from €124 instead of €85. If you only have half a day, do Pompeii properly instead.
What should I bring for Vesuvius?
Walking shoes (the path is volcanic gravel), water and an extra layer — it's cooler at the top. The walk up takes about 25–30 minutes.
And if it rains?
The site stays open in light rain — bring a poncho. If a weather alert closes the site or the crater we tell you, then reschedule or refund.

Excellent

«Excellent guide and a very helpful driver» — great commentary at both Pompeii and Herculaneum, and the included meal was appreciated.

Chris S · July 2026 · as a couple

A great, very informative day

Well planned between Pompeii, lunch and then Herculaneum: they kept the pace going even with 9-year-olds along.

Bruce M · August 2025 · with family

Skipping the line really pays off

«At Pompeii especially, the skip-the-line entry was a real advantage», with an air-conditioned coach straight from the hotel.

Good to know

Pompeii, the answers.

The practical details before you set off — and if something is missing, ask in chat.

What's included?
Skip-the-line entry and site tickets, a licensed guide, meeting at the Sorrento pickup points with transfer there and back. Lunch is included only in the combos that say so; on the half day you have free time and the guide can tell you where to eat.
How does the meeting point work?
Departure is from defined meeting points (pickup points) in the Sorrento area. You confirm your exact spot in chat when you book.
How long is the half-day Pompeii visit from Sorrento?
About 4–5 hours door to door, usually leaving in the morning and back in Sorrento in the early afternoon. The full-day combos (Pompeii and Vesuvius, or Pompeii and Herculaneum) run about 8–9 hours.
Do children pay less?
Yes: a reduced rate applies from 2 to 11 years old; from 12 the adult price applies. The prices shown are "from" prices — the exact confirmation for your date and group comes in chat.
What language is the tour in?
English and Italian. For anything else, ask in chat before you book.
Is it suitable with limited mobility?
The surfaces on site are ancient and uneven: the tour isn't recommended for wheelchair users or anyone with significant difficulty walking. If you're unsure, message us on WhatsApp and we'll find the best option.
What should I bring?
Comfortable shoes, water, sunglasses and a hat: there is very little shade on site. For the Vesuvius option add a light jacket for the crater.
How do I book? Can I cancel?
No forms: tell the chat what you want, get the available options and a secure link to confirm and pay. Prefer a person? The team answers on WhatsApp at +39 342 551 7087.
Can I book for today or last minute?
Availability is checked in real time, so last-minute and sometimes same-day places are possible — give the date in chat and you'll be told what's open.
