Getting here by ferry is already part of the experience

Sorrento, seen from the sea, is breathtaking, with its dramatic cliffs and colorful houses perched on the rock.

Once you land at Marina Piccola, grab a coffee to fuel up for the day. Why not indulge right away with something local? A sfogliatella or a delizia al limone will give you the perfect energy boost!

To kick things off, escape the crowds and head to one of Sorrento’s most enchanting hidden spots: the Vallone dei Mulini.

This overgrown valley, taken over by nature, has a surreal atmosphere. Stop by the viewpoint near Piazza Tasso and take in its eerie beauty.

From there, walk to Piazza della Vittoria, where a narrow alleyway leads to an ancient medieval staircase that descends all the way to Marina Grande, Sorrento’s charming fishing village.

But this isn’t just any path, walking down these old steps, surrounded by historic walls and sea views, will make you feel like a traveler from another time.

Now, get ready for the real thrill: the sea! If you want to avoid crowded beaches, take a dirt path to one of the most spectacular spots in Sorrento: Bagni della Regina Giovanna.

To reach it, head back to the main road and hop on a bus to Massa Lubrense, getting off at Capo di Sorrento. From there, the descent begins, but trust me, it’s worth every step! Or, if you’re up for something even more exciting, skip the usual trail and reach the area by kayak from Marina Grande. Here, surrounded by cliffs and crystal-clear waters, you’ll find a natural pool, connected to the sea by a small stone arch.

Uncovering something new at every step

Renting a kayak and staying close to the coast will let you discover hidden sea caves that very few people know about.

Must-see hidden gems: Grotta delle Sirene, that according to legend, this is where Ulysses heard the sirens' song.
Secret coves beneath Capo di Sorrento, perfect for a quiet, crowd-free swim. The natural arch of Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a breathtaking spot to paddle under.
For the bravest adventurers, cliff diving is a must! There are various jump heights, perfect for all levels of adrenaline seekers.

And don’t forget to bring a mask and snorkel, the water is incredibly clear, and the marine life is amazing to explore!

After all that action, it’s time to refuel. Forget crowded restaurants, go for a picnic with local delicacies: Buffalo mozzarella, freshly baked bread with Sorrento tomatoes and a good bottle of local wine
Find a scenic spot, sit back, and enjoy your meal overlooking the sea. After such an intense day, a moment of pure relaxation is needed. Head back to town and wander through the charming alleys to reach Villa Comunale’s terrace, one of the most stunning viewpoints in Sorrento.

With a glass of wine in hand, watch the sunset over the Gulf of Naples, painting the sky in golden hues.

If you still have energy to spare, after sunset, visit the Chiostro di San Francesco, a peaceful and magical spot to end your day on a serene note. From Villa Comunale, take the elevator back down to the port and set off, knowing that Sorrento has surprised, thrilled, and gifted you with unforgettable moments, turning every second into your most precious treasure.
