Everything begins at sea

No matter where you begin, once you arrive at the port of Ischia, ideally in the early morning, you’re welcomed by the sun gently warming the dock, while the scent of sea salt mingles with that of freshly baked bread. You’re ready. The air is still light, and you can already feel that today will be one of those unforgettable days.

A short 30-minute transfer by local bus (line 198) takes you to Schiappone, where your first step into nature begins.
The total hike lasts about an hour and a half, it’s a small segment of a larger, more demanding trekking route.
However, for those with the Coastrider spirit, who love to experience nature fully, even just a piece of the journey will feel like a full adventure.
The trail winds through terraced vineyards, dry stone walls, and Mediterranean scrub scented with wild rosemary and salty breeze. With every turn, the view becomes wider, wilder, and bluer. Then comes the small challenge: descending toward La Scarrupata, a spectacular canyon that opens onto the endless blue. Here, breath short but heart full, you understand what it means to “earn the view.”

Ischia Kayak & snorkeling between caves, castles and liquid wonder

After the first part of this long and exciting day, it’s time to head back toward Ischia Porto (or Campagnano) and treat yourself to something delicious: a crisp sandwich, a seasonal salad, or bruschetta with a sea view.
Sitting outdoors, letting the sun warm your skin and your body rest, there’s nothing quite like it, especially because you’ve earned every single bite.

In the early afternoon, the freshest and wildest part of the day awaits you. From Ischia Ponte, you hop into a kayak and begin to glide across the water. You paddle along the Aragonese Castle, which from the sea looks like something out of a medieval dream. Between sea caves, hidden passages, and quick dives, you explore the coast like only true adventurers do. The water is clear, deep, alive. Your muscles move in harmony with the sea. And then, when you stop to float… you realize you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

Cartaromana Bay for a well-earned relaxation

After an activity that’s both refreshing and demanding, it’s time to relax a little. Just a few steps away lies Cartaromana Bay: small, secluded, and intimate.
Here, natural thermal springs warm the sea, creating a completely natural SPA effect.
You can admire the submerged Roman ruins, unwind on a sun-warmed rock, or simply let yourself be rocked by the waves with a view of the castle.
It’s the perfect moment to think less, feel more, and smile.

And now comes the hardest part: heading back to the port, but not back to reality. The ferry takes you away… or maybe not.
Because Ischia, when you live it this way, stays with you.
In your slightly sore calves, on your sun-kissed skin, in your more open gaze.
And maybe, even as you sail away, a quiet thought rises between the waves:
