Cetara for family

Hey Rider Family!
I am so happy to welcome you on this journey to spent a day visiting Cetara with your family as a fairytale to live together.
Cetara isn’t just a seaside village, it’s a little treasure chest of stories, scents, and discoveries.
A perfect place to slow down, play, explore, and laugh together.
All it takes is a few simple things to enjoy a truly special day in Cetara with your kids and create a memory you'll always cherish.
So… are you ready to go?

Arrival in Cetara
When you travel with kids, everything can (and should!) turn into an adventure.
And in Cetara, a little gem tucked into the folds of the Amalfi Coast, all it takes is a bit of imagination — and a few wonderfully fragrant lemons — to experience a day full of wonder, play, and discovery.
The excitement starts even before you arrive, during the ferry ride: backpacks packed with swimsuits and snacks, wide eyes full of anticipation.
What better moment than this to ride the wave of their curiosity and tell them about the amazing day ahead? After all, their little explorer hearts are always on alert — and in front of an adventure like this, they light up more than ever.
But let’s not waste any more time with words... it’s time to have some fun!

Exploring Cetara
La Torre Vicereale
Imposing and silent, the Tower of Cetara looks like it came straight out of a fairytale with knights and pirates. Even if the idea of taking children to see this giant might sound boring at first, they’ll quickly turn the museum into a fortress to explore, and the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea into a place to imagine ancient battles or guards scanning the horizon.
And why not? With a small pair of binoculars, they can have fun spotting boats, seagulls… or distant castles!
It’s open every day, but I always recommend checking and booking in advance from the official website of the Civic Museum, especially during the summer.

Discovering the Cetara lemon groves
Did you know that the lemons of Cetara are so special they’re exported all over the world?
They’re harvested between June and July, and some are so sweet you can drink their juice straight… from the peel!
You can join the “Limoncello di Cetara” experience at the Agrocetus farm. It’s a guided walk through the terraced groves, where children can pick lemons with their own hands, smell them, touch them, and then, surprise!, taste their fragrant nectar served in a real lemon peel used as a cup.
An experience that awakens all the senses… a true sip of sunshine!
This colorful stroll along the coast will surely work up an appetite for everyone, so now it’s time to fill your belly and recharge your energy, because there’s still plenty more to discover!

Cetara “Colatura” for the adventurous palate
Before stopping to enjoy the local delicacies, there's one experience that truly deserves your full attention.
If your children are old enough and curious (let’s say around 7 and up), be sure to visit Azienda Nettuno, where the famous anchovy colatura is produced, a Slow Food Presidia product.
Despite the strong smell, it’s a unique opportunity to discover how this precious golden liquid is made, through tanks, pressings, and intense aromas.
Here in Cetara, it’s tradition to eat pasta with colatura at Christmas. So why not try making it at home as a special reminder of this unforgettable day?
And then… just the sea, the sea, and more sea!
In the afternoon, off go the shoes and down to the beach!
Lannio Beach, small and sheltered, is perfect for children. You can reach it on foot via a charming little path that starts near the Torre Vicereale and ends with a staircase that leads straight to the sand.
You can relax, play with the sand, take a quiet swim...
And for the more adventurous, there’s also the option to book a small boat excursion to explore the coastline, where the water turns emerald green — just make sure to book in advance!
And if, at the end of the day, the kids are smiling, their feet are sandy, and the sea still sparkles in their eyes... then Cetara has worked its little magic: you’ll head home with a light heart and a longing to return.
