Arrival in Procida
Procida is the smallest island in the Gulf of Naples, yet also the most authentic. Pastel colors, narrow alleys, and little squares where time seems to slow down. It’s the perfect place to enjoy as a family, where children can turn the day into a game of endless discoveries. The adventure begins with a smile: as the ferry approaches, Marina Grande suddenly appears: a mosaic of colorful houses that looks as if it were drawn with a child’s crayons. The little travelers curiously watch the fishermen’s boats and the nets laid out under the sun. Stroll along this charming port, full of character and atmosphere, and let yourself be enchanted. But don’t stop there, head to the bus stop to Piazza dei Martiri, where the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie Incoronata reigns supreme. From its belvedere, you’ll capture simply spectacular photos.

Exploring Procida
Walk down to Marina di Corricella, Procida’s most photographed fishing village. Here, the houses look as if they were stacked one on top of the other, painted in shades of yellow, pink, blue, and green. Turn the walk into a fun color hunt: who spots the quirkiest house first? The balcony with the most flowers? The brightest boat? Between alleys and stairways you’ll find postcard-perfect views, but also scenes of everyday life: fishermen mending their nets, children kicking a ball in the square, little shops selling the freshest lemon granitas. This is the perfect place to pause for a light lunch at a trattoria by the sea, with simple, authentic dishes: seafood spaghetti for the grown-ups, pasta with tomato sauce or a fried catch of the day for the kids.

Discovering the oldest and highest village on the island of Procida:
Terra Murata
After lunch, it’s time to head up to the highest and oldest part of the island: Terra Murata. You can reach it on foot (be ready for some scenic stairways).
Here, time feels frozen: narrow alleys, houses with outside staircases, small quiet squares. Kids will love counting the colorful doors, inventing stories about the ancient gates, or imagining knights and sailors who once lived within these walls. Turn the walk into a game: who can spot the first carved symbol on a door or the tiniest window? And when you reach the Belvedere dei Cannoni, it’s magic for everyone: parents can soak in the breathtaking view of Marina Corricella, while children enjoy a real “color hunt from above”.
For families with extra energy, the Palazzo D’Avalos offers an impressive guided tour: its wide courtyards, old cells, and mysterious atmosphere make kids feel like little explorers inside a hidden castle.
Finally, stop by the Church of San Michele Arcangelo: its golden baroque interiors shine like a hidden treasure, and the small windows along the stairs open onto postcard-like views.
Procida with kids is more than a trip
it’s a story to live together.
From colorful fishing villages to secret stairways, from lemon-scented alleys to breathtaking views, every corner becomes an adventure for little explorers (and a treasure of memories for parents).
So pack your curiosity, grab a gelato, and let Procida surprise you, one smile at a time.
