How to reach Sorrento Port from Sorrento Town

First of all: whenever possible, arrive by sea...

Reaching Sorrento by sea is the most scenic, relaxing, and often the fastest, way to get here.
From April to October, ferries and hydrofoils depart directly from Naples Beverello, Amalfi, Positano, Capri, and Ischia. The journey offers breathtaking views of the Gulf and, best of all, lets you skip the coastal traffic and winding roads.

Coastrider tip: If you arrive by sea, you’ll dock right at Marina Piccola, just a short walk from Sorrento’s historic center. No extra transfers, just the scent of the sea and the beauty of the coastline welcoming you ashore.

If you’re arriving in Sorrento by train (Circumvesuviana line from Naples or other towns), you’ll arrive at the Sorrento train station, about a 10-minute walk from Marina Piccola Port.
You can walk down to the port following the scenic downhill path (about 10 minutes) or take the local EAV bus from the station square (€1.30, every 15–20 minutes), which drops you right at the harbor entrance.

If you’re arriving in Sorrento by SITA bus from Amalfi, Positano, or Salerno, the final stop is near the train station as well. From there, you can hop on the local bus to the port (5 minutes) or use the Villa Comunale panoramic elevator (€2.00 per person), the quickest and most scenic way to reach the seafront.

Coastrider tip: the walk from the center to the port is beautiful, but it’s all downhill, and uphill on the way back!
If you have luggage, children, or limited time, the local bus or elevator will make your trip smoother and more comfortable.

If you’re arriving in Sorrento by car there are several secure parking options nearby.
